“Let’s Talk About This…”
It sounds so simple, so painless, so….easy.
It’s the very thing that our leaders are supposed to be good at. It’s assumed that our team members are supposed to understand how to communicate clearly and use those skills with ease and success.
But if it’s so easy, why is it the cause of so many problems?
Why does it seem to often get in the way of a peaceful and productive team that has so much potential?
- When we feel unheard, we lose faith in our leaders
- When we feel misunderstood, we lose trust in the direction of the team
- When we aren’t sure of what we need to say or do next, we lose connection with potential clients.
In other words, authentic communication can start to feel like a pipe dream.
At it’s worst, it can cause us to feel unsafe and not know who to trust. We feel like we are without allies in a hostile environment.
Without understanding others, our leadership can do more harm than good. Instead of feeling like we have a solid team working towards a common goal, we can have:
- tenuous conversations fraught with tension
- disregard for structures and processes put in place
- resentment and competitiveness
- lack of accountability and a sense of entitlement
- increased turnover that hurts the bottom line
The list could go on.
Authentic connection that results in clarity, mutual respect and, most of all, business and life success, doesn’t need to be complicated.
There are three basic building blocks to understand others. When we understand what they are and how to use them, we can begin to see immediate results.
The kind of results that transform conversations from explosive to exploratory, that give people the sense of being heard and understood.
The kind of results that overflow into every area of our lives, transforming us in the process.
As an ICF certified coach, Christal has helped clients learn how to use the principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and appreciative inquiry (AI) in their daily interactions to build trust, authenticity and genuine connections. This results in a more confident work environment, strengthened teams and authentic engagement.
As a team workshop, this is a specially designed half/full day that Christal will co-create with you around your team’s specific needs.
It can involve a combination of one on one/group coaching for communication and sales team members. Included is the option of added workshops where team members learn and practice the foundational skills of NLP and AI. Your team will learn how to discover and identify the basic communication values and styles, thus being enabled to use those in their customer and team relationships.
